If you need quick access to an app, type the first letter or two of its name in the Google Now search bar. Icons for matching entries will immediately be displayed in a row below the top search results. Tap on the one you need to open it.
There are various ways to get instant access to media stored in apps indexed by Google Now. The easiest is to get Google’s attention by saying ‘OK Google’ and follow that up by stating what app, eBook, song or video you want Now to open or start playing.
To find an artist, song, movie, TV show or eBook, start typing the name into Now’s search box until the result appears in the fields below. Tapping the title will open the media in its app. This works for contacts too.
You can also use Google Now to access streaming media. Type a name or title in the Google search box and look down the results for app services such as YouTube and Spotify that you have installed. Tap on an entry to open the app with your desired content loaded.
